Robo Rally
Description | Robo Rally is a fast paced robot racing board game for 2-6 players that can be played in a variety of configurations, with individual players or teams.
When player Robo Rally, players are presented with programmable action cards, which they must assign to their robot while racing through a range of complicated obstacle courses, complete with conveyor belts, pits, spinners, and most challenging of all, other players! Players will program their robot with 5 actions at a time, such as movement and turning instructions, each with variable speed properties. Turns happen simultaneously, with faster cards taking priority, which can result in players pushing or shooting each other into unintended stations.
A timer is used (optional) when programming the robots, which requires players to quickly think and plan several moves ahead. Once the sequence is locked in, there is no changing it, and all players get to experience the (often humorous) outcomes as they play out. Robo Rally comes with lots of maps of varying complexity for a wide range of skill levels and replayability.
The game is a great tool for teaching forward planning, practicing decision making under pressure, attention to detail and numeracy.
