Platforms: PC, Playstation, Xbox Publisher: Krafton Year of release: 2017 PUBG: Battlegrounds (commonly called “PUBG”) is a free-to-play battle royale shooter that can be played in either third-person and first-person modes. PUBG is the game that popularised the battle royale genre that spawned games such as Call of Duty: Warzone, Fortnite and Apex Legends, and still remains one of the most played games in the world. PUBG is know for being the more tactical and “realistic” game within the genre, with harder to master bullet recoil, more realistic vehicle physics and movement options, resulting in more methodological, tactical and measured gameplay compared to some of its rivals within the genre. PUBG has a thriving esports scene and is also played at collegiate level in many parts of the world. PUBG also remains one of the biggest mobile games in the world, with different versions of the game available in different markets under varying names and licensing agreements.
