Publisher: InnerSloth Year of release: 2018 Among Us is a top down social deduction action game for 4-15 players, which splits players into the roles of “Crewmates” who are trying to complete tasks against a ticking clock and “Imposters” who are trying to sabotage their progress and if possible kill them without being detected. The game features multiple mini-games which leads the Crewmates to explore the various maps, with Imposters having fast travel opportunities using ventilation shafts. If anyone finds a dead body, they can immediately call a meeting and after a discussion someone can be voted to be removed from the game. If the crew manage to complete all of their objectives or eliminate all of the imposters, they win. Among Us is one of the most popular digital social deduction games on the market, primarily due to its visual charm and easy to understand rules and mechanics. Despite the simplicity, there is a lot of room for depth and argumentation, and it is a good game for facilitating deductive reasoning, social learning skills, debate and communication ability. Best played with microphones or the ability to talk verbally, but it is also possible to play using text based communication.
