Sid Meier's Civilization VII

Description
Platforms: PC, macOS, Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo Publisher: 2K Year of release: 2025 Sid Meier’s Civilization is a 4x turn-based strategy game for 1-12 players, which puts players in charge of leading a civilization through distinct ages of history from ancient times to modern day. Through the ages, players must navigate their way towards victory alongside other players or computer controlled opponents, dealing with issues such as economy, religion, diplomacy, war, scientific research, cultural exploration, city planning and more. An initially complex and hard game to understand, Sid Meier’s Civilization is a rewarding experience that has the potential to teach students diplomacy, debate and cooperation skills, and many areas associated with planning and strategy. Additionally the game imparts knowledge related to history and different cultures. Due to the wealth of information presented to players, reading and data analysis skills will be utilised consistently. If used as an educational tool for game-based learning, Sid Meier’s Civilization would need to be adapted into multiple sessions, or make use of custom scenarios, both of which are possible due to save functionality. Alternatively, a full “fast” playthrough can be achieved in around 6 hours.
