Rocket League is a free-to-play team based vehicular soccer video game where players drive and fly rocket powered cars around a customised enclosed soccer pitch in a game that is akin to playing soccer with cars.
The game is played in variations of team sizes from 1v1 to 4v4 and is very accessible to begin with, but has one of the highest mechanical skill ceilings across all competitive esports games, due to the physics based gameplay and freedom of control for the players cars across all three dimensional axis.
Rocket league has a thriving esports scene and is also regularly played across all levels of school due to its family friendly presentation with zero violence. Due to online play, regional recommendations should still apply, but the game can be played locally in offline settings using either split screen or local connections. |
